Sold My Soul 07:10
He took me down to the depths of myself in shades of black, with wild, untamed mane, oozing memories of denim and leather, wearing casual pride and faded fame. The one for me: it’s got to be. Rock and Roll, come take my hand – lead me to the promised land! I sold my soul to Rock and Roll under midnight lights and a mazy glow. The drums and thrumming and melody flows. Take me to heaven tonight. The music glitters, spun from gold, so turn the amps up; turn the lights down low. Piece me together and make me whole. I’m going to heaven tonight. The sweaty shimmer of the air fills me with heady musk of all the spiced guitars. With rough caress the baseline draws me down to a brash, black room with seven silver stars. (Prechorus and chorus) Play it fast. Play it loud. Play it angry. Play it proud. Play it simple. Play it sweet. Play it soft. Build the heat. Play to me; play my heart. Play to lonely Cupid’s dart. Play above; play below. Play a memory long ago. (Chorus)

Violet Hours 05:54
“Violet Hours” You’re just the one I dreamed you’d be: the one to set me free. As wondrous as the night, a wild bird in flight, I never want to say good-bye. In the violet hours of night, I close my eyes and I dream of you, and I know that when I awake, we’ll be together soon. I can’t believe how much I dream of you so far away, to touch your shining soul, enwrapped in lovers’ gold, and tell the darkening day, ‘Oh, I love you.’ (Chorus) The dream is gone, and I wonder, Was it ever true? Do I dream this life, this death? Is there nothing left of you? My heart forlorn, my soul laid bare: my mind is worn, as I slip into black nowhere without you. In the violet hours of night, I close my eyes and I dream of you, and I know that when I awake, we’ll be together soon. In the violet hours of night, I close my eyes and I dream of you. I touch your soul and I whisper, ‘Wait: we’ll be together soon.’ In the violet hours of night, I close my eyes to shut out black day. And I pray that I never wake, for we’re together now.

Storms are threatening; Tarquinus rides for you. Stifling air makes it hard to breathe. Suffocating all of your senses, your mind is numb. Blinded by a desperate dream, slipping into unholy ground. Wake up, Lucretia! This crucible of light distorts you. Wake up, Lucretia! The keys are in your hand. The keys are in your hand. Faced by a spectre of disgrace and shame, the darkness will extinguish your light. Lucretia, you have nothing to prove: you’re innocent. Your wanton blood will only stain the stone where you lay. Wake up, Lucretia! This crucible of light distorts you. Wake up, Lucretia! Lost in dark space, hiding in silence. Wake up, Lucretia! The keys are in your hand. The keys are in your hand. Wake up, wake up, wake up Lucretia (etc.) Moonlight beams through stone walls. Leave behind you hell black as night. Reach up to touch the ray of light. The darkness before you is your salvation. Take my hand. Tiptoe to the light. The keys are in your hand.

Does my power threaten you, my intelligence insult? Do you hate me going forward while backwards you pull? Does my talent awake in you a monster, angry and green? Do you long to give me nightmares while I grow my dreams? Against your slings and arrows, I hold my shield high. When you block my righteous path, I grow wings and fly. When you try to drag me down, I soar up to the sky. Still, I rise. Does my resilience frustrate you? My armour will not dent. Do you detest me building castles while you pitch your feeble tent? Does my fire burn you? I’ll throw on more fuel. And do you abhor my honour for showing you are cruel? (Chorus) Like the heat in the south, still I rise. Like the snows in the north, still I rise. Like the sun in the east, still I rise. Like the moon in the west, still I rise. Does my strength confuse you? I grow stronger every day. Does my skill annoy you while you waste your life away? Do you cut me with your words? You’re not that erudite. You can live your life in jealousy: this is not a fight. (Chorus)

Sirens lament in lonely dens: ‘Come to me. Be mine and set me free.’ Sirens lament again, again, and cry, ‘Free me from my prison: sobbing seas.’ They come, *Approaching now,* bursting forth with souls: *my heart awakes.* companionship at last. *Loneliness ends.* I’ll show *Sunbursts of hope:* you such beauty *my only solace* that your soul will shatter. *until you’ve come.* Bring me just one *One voice,* to fill the silent void, *one heart,* to share eternity. *until we sing.* Until we sing *With one voice we sing* together. Sing, sing. (Chorus) Heartbreak. *This curse untold.* Drowning, burning hell. *Soothe your searing flesh.* Seek sweet relief in my embrace. *My agony:* They never stay: *monotony,* food for the abyss. *chained to these rocks.* Sleep at peace with me *Sleep at peace with me* Forever. (Chorus) ‘Come to me, to my rocky isle on lonely seas. My heart is aching through your cold descent. Our curse eternal,’ sirens lament. ‘Come to me, stalwart heroes of the sobbing seas, where the shadows dance and swallows play. Companion me forever and a day.’ ‘Come to me. Free me from sobbing seas,’ sirens lament.

Furious clouds veil skies black as night. Monstrous growls shake the world. Adrift, rudderless, upon heartless seas, screaming winds howl at galaxies. The stars peep. The seas sleep. The waters dream, still and deep. All is glass, glittering. You are in the… Eye of the storm. Find your guiding star. Stay the course, as land is not too far. Indigo thunder, silver lightning. The sun lurches down, sickening. Starry waves calm the sea. Wondering waters sigh and breathe. All is moon, glimmering. You are in the… (Chorus)

Heartsword! Of legends. Forged from a thousand suns. Cooled in still waters. Drowned in impossible dreams. Old bards tell tales of a powerful sword which grants mystical gifts to its bearer: the speed of hawks and the claws of lions, the wisdom of owls and a dragon’s will of iron. A thousand years and a thousand more, the myth endured of the brave Heartsword. Legions of warriors, priests and mages sought the weapon throughout the ages. It lies in dark and untamed waters, guarded by fierce fires, white-hot with rage. None but the purest hearts prevail. Many seek the path and fail. (Chorus) A hero rises to make her claim to the fabled sword of myth and fame. Enrobed in virtue, certain as night, she flies, swift and true as the arrow’s flight. Zealous and firm, she does not yield, hardy as a willow with compassion’s shield. With noble truth, she seeks her art with the light of the right and a sunchaser heart. (Chorus) Seven weary nights tried our heroine’s faith. Immortal agonies shadowed: she never lost her faith. Though temptations loured under turbulent skies, she never lost her faith. She was not singed in fire, nor drowned in lakes, for seven weary nights she kept her faith. She kept faith (etc.) A candle drifted through water, like dreams, though no sword shone in the moonlight’s beams. Inscribed in steel, in her own hand, lay a list of her deeds throughout the land. She knew then that the prophecy sang true: a sword of her soul swam in the watery blue. The myth was mangled by time and man: it was her Heart’s Word that strengthened her hand. Her heart’s word: her legend! Forged from her battles won. Cooled in mercy’s rain. Forged from unreachable stars. Cooled in deep sorrow Forged from her heart’s pure sun. Cooled in honour gleaming. Drowned in impossible dreams.

Blinded by his shining light, you look upon his face. Eyes are gleaming, teeth are grinning, a smile that you can’t fake. In this game of make-believe, don’t follow him too deep, as you will find you’re falling and you’re coming in too steep. Would it really set you free if you dared to let them see the truth behind the person you imagine them to be? At the Masquerade, desperate eyes are made. At the Masquerade, it’s a different shade. Hidden by his paper face, his eyes won’t hide the fear. Deep beneath the paint and rouge, won’t let you come too near. Seething shadows, breathing lies, drink until you’re green, ‘til fool and king reunite at the final battle scene. Would it really set you free if you dared to let them see the truth behind the person you imagine them to be? (Chorus) At the Masquerade, malicious eyes are made. At the Masquerade, the darkness will fade.

If You Dare 04:54
A house full of empty dreams. A man who is on his knees. He stands at the battle scene and breathes it in. You shut your weary eyes and try to forget this life. But darkness is not your dream: a soul strong as steel. So, just one more time if you dare: live while you’re alive. And never give in to the fight. Step into the fire. That feeling of what is right burns right through the darkest spell and helps you to hear the sound that thuds in your heart. (Chorus)

Jekyll: Awakening, I spy my blood-spotted dress: red roses on white snow. Last night’s deeds drowned in blackened abyss, dark truths I don’t want to know. Why, when I strive to be good, am I evil? Why is there evil in each act of good? Why, inside each of us, lurks something evil? Why is each good action stained with bad blood? Hyde: Awakening, I know the hunt is near: the wild wolf stalks the lamb. I know nothing of day; I know nothing of fear, and our reckoning will soon be at hand. I am inside of you; I am your evil. Evil intention stains each act of good. Good would not be if we did not have evil, so, every good action is steeped in bad blood. Jekyll: I’m purest white, Hyde: I'm darkest black, Jekyll: a soul of light, Hyde: Intent intact: Jekyll: to save man Hyde: to ravage man Jekyll: from his own hand. Hyde: with his own hand. Jekyll: To save the world Hyde: Destroy the world Jekyll: with wings unfurled, Hyde: with darkness unfurled. Jekyll: yet I am stained by darkness unseen. Hyde: Yet I am strained by virtue unseen. Jekyll: Who did I kiss and who did I kill? Hyde: Exhilarating pain met excruciating thrill. Jekyll: Where have I come from? Who has my soul? Hyde: You come from order; let chaos take control. Jekyll: How do I save myself? How do I win? Hyde: You lost the moment you chose to begin. Jekyll: How do I escape you? Leave me; we’re through. Hyde: You never will escape. You created me – I’m you. Both: Angels and demons, we’re only human. Hiding our true selves, building our own hell. Cursed by our own hand, making a last stand. Am I monster? Am I man? We play an angel in the light And enact dark desires through the night. Behind our bleak towers we hide, Cowering behind misplaced pride. We fear our unnatural thirsts, But found a gift in our curse. Man and monster, there’s a fine line. Results: hellish. Intentions: divine. We brag about our lust for blood, but it’s easier to be evil than good. Inseparable nightmares and dreams, all that we are is a dying scream. We are both predator and prey: a face in the mirror that won’t go away. We can pray, we can curse, we can cry, but they’ll never separate Jekyll from Hyde! Let’s determine who’s strong and weak. Come! Let’s play Hyde and Seek.
